In order to help deter theft of catalytic converters, the Roseville Police Department has partnered with local
automotive businesses to provide free engraving and painting of catalytic converters.
The catalytic converters are engraved with either the vehicle’s license plate number or last five digits of the VIN, which make it identifiable if recovered. The paint used is a bright color “very high temperature/flameproof” paint designed for application on vehicle engine parts and is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 2000F.
